The following support bulletin has been created to assist with downloading and installing the Toshiba Cloud TV App to an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad as well as connecting the app to the Cloud TV to control operation.

Prior to downloading and installing the Toshiba Cloud TV app to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and connecting to Cloud TV services:

  • Ensure your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and TV are both connected to the SAME Wi-Fi network if you will be using the App to control your TV like a remote control. The TV can be connected through the Ethernet connection (wired) but make sure the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad is connected to the same network.

To use your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to access Cloud TV services as well as control your Toshiba Cloud TV you will need to perform the following procedures in order:

Create a Cloud TV account

To create a Cloud TV account:

  1. Using your TV remote, power on your Toshiba Cloud TV.
  2. Press the “Home” button on the remote.
  3. Select “Settings” in the lower right corner of the screen.
  4. Select “Cloud Setup Wizard” and follow the on-screen instructions to setup an account.

Allow devices to connect through the Apps Control Profile settings

To select the Apps Control Profile:

  1. Press the 'Setup' button on the remote.
  2. Select Network > Network Device Setup > External Control Setup and press the 'OK' button.
  3. Using the up/down arrow buttons, select and set Apps Control Profile and press the 'OK' button. The Apps Control Profile window will appear.
  4. Select the Device Registration Setup and press the 'OK' button. The Device Registration Setup window will appear.
  5. Select the Companion Device ID.
  6. Select the Cancel, All, or Delete buttons.

NOTE: If the maximum number of registered devices (20) is exceeded, no additional devices can be registered. Delete unnecessary devices before registering a new device.

To enable the New Device Detection:

  1. Press the 'Setup' button on the remote.
  2. Select Network > Network Device Setup > External Control Setup and press the 'OK' button.
  3. Using the up/down arrow buttons to select and set Apps Control Profile and press the 'OK' button. The Apps Control Profile window will appear.
  4. Select New Device Detection and press the 'OK' button.
  5. Using the left/right arrow buttons, select Enable or Disable.
  6. Press the 'OK' button to submit.

NOTE: If Enable Control is not set to ON in External Control Setup, Apps functions including Pairing cannot be used.

Install the Toshiba Cloud TV App and connect to Cloud TV services

NOTE: App installation and setup are shown on an Apple iPhone 4s.

  1. Locate, download and install the Toshiba Cloud TV App from app store.
  1. Once installed, locate and open the app on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
  1. Scroll to the bottom and select 'I Agree' to agree the terms of service.
  1. Select 'Next' to begin the setup wizard.
  1. Select 'Next' to agree the terms and conditions.
  1. A device Profile will need to be created, select 'Next' to continue.
  1. Enter a device name and select 'Next'. Icon and Wallpaper selections are optional.
  1. A user account will need to be created, select 'Next' to continue.
  1. If you have an existing account, login by select 'Use existing Cloud TV services account'. If you do not have an account, select 'Create new user account'.

NOTE: You can use the account created earlier under 'Create a Cloud TV account'.

  1. Fill in all fields in the user account information. This includes choosing a 4 digit PIN as well as a password.
  1. Once you have completed the Cloud Setting Wizard, select 'Close'.

  1. The home screen will be displayed. Select the gear settings icon in the upper Right corner of the screen.
  1. Select 'Invite Device'.
  1. Give your device a name.
  1. Select the refresh arrow below the name to display the activation code.
  1. At this point will also need to have created a Cloud TV account on the Television as described earlier. Then link the TV to the app using the “Link Device” selection on the TV under “Account Settings” by entering in the code provided by the App. To access, go to Cloud Home > Settings > Device Settings & Device Link > Link Device > Link new device.
  2. Select “Back” in the upper Right corner two times to return to the home screen.

  1. You can start messaging and sharing the calendar and photos between your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad app and the television.

NOTE: Pairing with external devices cannot be carried out when the TV is connected to an unencrypted wireless LAN access point. Activate the encryption settings for the wireless LAN access point before carrying out Pairing. Ensure the TV is ON and connected to the same network as the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

  1. On the QApp home screen select the 'Remote Control' icon at the lower Left corner of the screen.
  1. On the next screen, touch 'Select' in the upper Right corner of the screen to select the device to pair to.
  1. Select the connected TV from the available devices.
  1. The device will communicate with the TV resulting in the TV displaying a 4-digit paring code on screen.
  2. Enter the displayed pairing code on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
  1. Once paired, the top of the remote control screen should display the name of the connected TOSHIBA device and have a Green checkmark next to it, indicating it is connected.
  1. You can now control the TV through the available controls on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
  2. To display a complete list of gesture controls, select the “i” icon. At the middle Right of the screen.
